History: here!

Personality:

Skye is a friendly and intelligent young woman. She is the type of person to have little qualms about approaching a complete stranger for the sake of conversation, offering assistance, or for other reasons. In these engagements, she is capable of being polite, but more often than not, she is outspoken.

If she disagrees with something, she will voice her opinion, regardless of whether it is an opportune time or not. Skye won't wait for the right moment to express her concerns about something. She has the tendency to let everyone know she has concerns right off the bat.

This frequently includes even arguing with superior officers and breaking protocol if discussion doesn't yield the desired results.
This frequently occurs so much simply because of how idealistic Skye is. She knows the world isn't perfect, but she refuses to accept that.
Instead of sitting around and complaining, she tries to do something about it as well. She is an activist by nature, but she at least has the drive to try to do something about it rather than sitting around and talking about what needs to change.

The sort of idealism that Skye has is fitting for most tech savvy young adults. She believes in governmental transparency, free access to information, and so on. In a new world order with aliens, gods, superheroes, villains, and top secret agencies, she believes everyone has a right to accessing what would otherwise be confidential information. At least, when she is first introduced in the show, it can be argued that she's likely influenced by the likes of Julian Assange and Edward Snowden.

Because of this, she has an initial distrust in SHIELD because it is a secret organisation built on a web of secrets and even more secrets, to the point that it's surprising that Nick Fury doesn't have big 80s hair from keeping them all.

Needless to say, it takes her a while to warm up to the idea of SHIELD not being a big bad, but a group that actually wants to help protect people. As for the hoarding of top secret information, well. It takes SHIELD collapsing and Natasha Romanoff uploading all of it online for Skye to realise that there certainly are things that the general populace doesn't need to know.

This is partially why she's initially drawn to the Rising Tide, and her subsequent choice to join SHIELD. Both of them are instrumental in helping to do what she thinks is right. There is also the added bonus on them being useful in her own interests, like finding out about her parents. It can easily be said that this is one of her biggest motivating factors. There is so little that she knows about her own life, her parents, et cetera and she has a burning need to find out anything and everything she can.

Apart from her idealism, the other reason she is drawn to both organisations is simply because of her burning need to belong to something. Despite her smiles and optimism, Skye is a lonely person. This is not by choice, but as a result of growing up growing up in the system. She was frequently moved from foster home to foster home, which meant that forming bonds and long-lasting relationships with other people was difficult, despite wanting a family and to belong more than anything.

She manages to find both home and family within SHIELD, especially after finding out that SHIELD has been protecting her for her entire life. Her team is extremely important to her, despite all of their differences and disagreements. This includes Coulson, FitzSimmons, May, and until recently, Ward. To those she cares about, Skye is caring, willing to lend an ear if it's needed.

As cliché as it is, there is probably little that she wouldn't do for those she cares about. But once her trust is violated, that's the end of it. It could be anything from compromising ideals (such as her ex-boyfriend selling information and using people a a means to an end) to something far worse. (Like murdering countless people and being a member of a Nazi terrorist group? Yeah, that's not going to fly with her.)

There is a degree of selflessness in her. She will intentionally put herself in potential danger, not only for those she cares about, but for the Greater Good as well. This includes trying to manipulate powerful people with deadly affiliations or playing someone. It's something Skye is quite capable of doing. There might be a moment or two where the façade slips depending upon the situation, but it says a lot about her inner strength that she's able to intentionally act on romantic feelings for someone she found out is a bad guy in order to keep him from knowing that she knows the truth while finding a way to get the upperhand.

Skye feels a considerable amount of guilt in regard to Mike Peterson due to her involvement in his fate in getting pulled into the DeadLok programme. It's only her fault in that she initially approached him and tried to convince him to be a hero, ect, but it is still something she carries with her. In that regard she would she think she probably needs to be in Téleios. That aside, she would view her own crimes differently than others here. In some regards, she was acting above the law. Again, Greater Good and all of that, so she likely won't see it being as "bad" as other crimes.

Powers/Abilities:

Skye has unknown latent abilities due to being the daughter of "monsters." It's nothing she knows about, nor is it anything she's acted upon as far as we know. Currently it's just been something hinted at by other characters.

That aside, she's a brilliant hacker and programmer, able to hack into secure government websites and create her own bugs. She has limited training in bearing arms and hand-to-hand combat, but apart from that she's like the average person.

So far it seems that she has the typical limitations of the average human, but there is still the unknown factor to take into consideration.

Actionspam Sample:

[SHIELD no longer exists, so she can't use her previous, albeit short-lived status as a means to order to gain information or assistance. Skye is more accustomed to obtaining her information through more indirect means, through backdoors and the like.

That's not the issue. This is essentially kidnapping, as far as she's concerned. Honestly? That's never cool. She is a bit tired of it, and this couldn't be at a more inopportune time. And to make it even worse...]

No computer, no phone. [No, the communication bracelet doesn't count. How can it, when she can't even text.] Does this place even have Wifi? This is like being on a leash all over again. If I'm stuck here, they could at least be a bit more hospitable.

[The person she's speaking to gives her a look, thus Skye has plenty more to say.]

It's not an addiction. If I had access to the proper tech, I could get a better idea of what's going on. Yeah, I was told one thing but they've not given me a reason to trust them at all. After finding out SHIELD was infiltrated by HYDRA- [and so many other things] -this just isn't good enough.

Trying to hack this bracelet isn't helping at all, either. I've tried.
